Choosing your language: English and 45 others

How to switch the language of the SignSpry app, which languages exist, and what 'translated automatically' means.

SignSpry's app, its emails and the certificate of completion are available in English and 45 other languages. Pick yours from the account menu; the choice follows you to every device.

Switching your own language

  1. Open the account menu (your avatar, top right).
  2. Choose Language and pick a language from the list.

You can also go to Password & 2FA and use the Language card ("The language SignSpry uses for you"). Leave it on Automatic to follow your organisation's language, or your browser's.

Your choice is saved on your profile. SignSpry also writes your own notification emails in it.

Setting a default for your organisation

An admin can set Organisation language under Admin → Signing defaults. It is the language members see until they choose their own. Automatic — each person's browser leaves it to each person's browser.

The order SignSpry uses, from most to least specific, is: the language you just picked, your saved choice, your organisation's setting, your browser's language, then English.

What is translated

  • The app, the signing page, the emails and the certificate of completion.
  • The help centre. Articles are translated into 14 languages: German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Russian, Arabic, Hindi and Indonesian. In any other language, you read the English article and a note says "This article isn't translated into your language yet, so it is shown in English."

What is not translated

  • Your documents. SignSpry translates the screens around your contract, never the contract.
  • Legal documents. The terms, privacy policy and similar pages are published in English only, and the English text is the binding version.
  • Plan names (Free, Starter, Team, Enterprise), brand names and the word PAID on stamps.

What "translated automatically" means

All the languages except English and the first six (German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch) were translated by machine and are waiting for review by native speakers. Public website pages in such a language show a note: "This page was translated automatically. Where the translation and the English version differ, the English version applies." If you find a wrong or awkward phrase in the app, please tell us through Support.

Signers choose their own language

The language you use is separate from the one your signers see. Senders choose a starting language for each envelope or recipient, and signers can switch on the signing page. See Signing in other languages.
